What is atmosphere?

You can think of atmosphere as a thick blanket that surrounds the planet Earth. Earth’s atmosphere is made up of gases and other small particles such as dust, pollen and water. The gases that make up most of the Earth’s atmosphere are oxygen, nitrogen, and argon. In addition to these three gases, there are many other gases in small amounts.
